What this Walmart fee calculator estimates

Walmart Marketplace is not a flat “take rate” on every item. Sellers typically pay a referral fee by category (a percentage of the item price) and may add Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) or their own shipping cost. This page estimates net after referral, optional WFS, and your product cost — and can reverse-solve a minimum list price for a target net.

Presets (electronics ~8%, clothing/home/toys ~15%, beauty ~14%, other ~12%) are planning defaults, not a full live category table. Always open Seller Center for your exact category before you buy inventory or lock a price.

Fee components in plain language

  • Referral fee — Category percentage on the selling price. The calculator multiplies price × rate. Change the category dropdown to stress-test different verticals.
  • WFS / fulfillment — Enter a per-unit estimate from WFS quotes or your 3PL. Leave at $0 for self-fulfilled planning only.
  • Item cost — COGS for the unit (landed cost if you import). Not a Walmart fee, but required for true net.
  • Region presets — Walmart Marketplace economics are primarily US-focused; other regions apply a small illustrative adjustment only. Prefer US numbers for real decisions.

Worked example (illustrative)

Suppose you list a $24 clothing item, COGS $8, clothing-style referral ~15%, and $4.50 WFS-style fulfillment. Referral ≈ $3.60, fulfillment $4.50, total platform-ish cost $8.10, net ≈ $24 − $8.10 − $8 = $7.90 before ads and returns. Raise ads or returns and the same “healthy” price can break even. Run your real numbers in the fields above — this example only shows why referral + fulfillment + COGS must be modeled together.

Walmart vs Amazon

Amazon often stacks referral + FBA size-tier fees + storage; Walmart may look cheaper on referral alone until WFS and ad competition are included. Compare the same COGS on the Amazon FBA calculator and this page, then read platform fees compared and Walmart Marketplace fees.

How to use each mode

Profit — Enter price, cost, category, optional WFS. Read estimated referral, total fees, and net.

Reverse price — Enter target net profit; get a minimum list price that covers referral, WFS, and COGS under the selected rate.

Bundle math — Rough multi-unit pricing check when several units share one listing-style sale.

Professional workflow

  1. Confirm category referral % in Walmart Seller Center.
  2. If using WFS, paste a realistic per-unit fulfillment estimate (not $0 hope).
  3. Use landed COGS, not supplier quote alone.
  4. Stress-test a 10–20% lower price and a higher return rate.
  5. Only then compare to Amazon FBA on the same product.
