Seller Fees by Region

US-first calculators, UK/EU presets, and a practical way to adapt numbers without guessing.

What this guide is (and isn’t)

This is a fee-modeling guide. JunctionKit tools help you structure costs (referral %, payment processing, fulfillment, listing fees). They are not official rate cards for every country, and they are not tax or legal advice.

Most individual calculators (Etsy, Amazon, Shopify, etc.) use simplified US 2026 models so the math stays clear. The Fee Comparator 2.0 adds US / UK / EU-style presets for a fast cross-channel view. When your local rate differs, you replace the percentage — the structure still holds.

How regions usually differ

Exact numbers change by category and plan. Patterns sellers run into:

AreaWhat often changes outside the US
Referral / final-value feesSame idea, different % by marketplace and category
Payment processingCard and PayPal-style rates vary by country and merchant tier
Fulfillment (FBA / FBT)Local weight and size tiers; not the same dollar amounts as US
VAT / sales taxOften collected or displayed differently — not the same as “selling fees”
Listing & adsPromoted listings, offsite ads, and listing renewals follow local rules

Use the table as a checklist when you open each platform’s help center — not as a substitute for it.

Recommended workflow (5 steps)

  1. Pick the channel — Etsy, Amazon, eBay, Shopify, TikTok Shop, etc.
  2. Run the US structure first — open the matching JunctionKit calculator so you see every cost line (referral, processing, fulfillment, ads).
  3. Cross-check with the Comparator — use Fee Comparator 2.0 and select the UK or EU preset for a ranked net estimate across channels.
  4. Replace with local figures — copy current % and fixed fees from the platform’s seller handbook for your country. Adjust inputs or interpret the output as a template.
  5. Separate tax from fees — VAT/GST and import duty belong in landed-cost or accounting tools, not mixed into “marketplace fee” unless you intentionally model them that way.

Why we don’t ship full official multi-country rate cards on every tool

Platforms update fees by category, promotion, and region. Hard-coding dozens of official schedules into every calculator would go out of date fast and could mislead people who trust a number that no longer matches Seller Central.

Our approach: clear structure + simplified presets + explicit “confirm on the platform.” That is less flashy than “official rates for 40 countries,” and more honest.

Estimates only. Fee models are simplified and may not match your category, plan, or country. This is not tax, legal, or financial advice. Confirm current fees in each platform’s seller documentation. JunctionKit may earn from affiliate links.

Frequently asked questions

Do JunctionKit calculators support every country?

Most fee tools use simplified US 2026 models. The Fee Comparator includes US, UK, and EU-style presets for a quick side-by-side view. Always confirm final percentages in each platform’s local seller help center.

Where should UK sellers start?

Open the Fee Comparator and choose the UK preset, then open the matching platform calculator (Etsy, Amazon, eBay, etc.) and adjust any rates that differ from your Seller Hub.

Is this tax advice?

No. This page is about marketplace and payment fee modeling only. VAT, sales tax, and import duties are separate and depend on your situation.

Why not hard-code every country’s official rates?

Platforms change fees by category, plan, and country often. Maintaining full official rate cards on every tool would go stale quickly. Presets plus “confirm on platform” stays accurate longer.

Which tools work best for non-US sellers right now?

Fee Comparator 2.0 (region preset), then Etsy, Amazon, eBay, Shopify, and PayPal calculators — treat the numbers as a starting structure and swap in your local rates.
